INTERESTING TALES FROM THE INTERNET(YOU KNOW IT'S TRUE IF THEY PUT IT ON THE INTERNET)

CARSON CITY, Nev. - If you’re looking for an “outlaw” motorcycle, Nevada prison officials have a deal for you: a custom, high-powered chopper that costs $40,000 or more and is built by real outlaws.

The prison system’s “Big House Choppers” venture is expanding from a small wooden shed involving a few motorcycle-savvy convicts to a larger prison shop in southern Nevada that will employ as many as 30 inmates.

“We are producing the only true outlaw motorcycles being produced by outlaws in the United States,” Howard Skolnik, head of the state’s prison industries program.

THIS HAS GOT TO BE SOME KIND OF A RECORD

Motorcyclist cited for driving 205 mph ST. PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota state troopers pulled over a motorcycle going 205 mph Saturday on U.S. Highway 61 south of Kellogg. The driver, Samuel Tilley, 20, of Stillwater was cited for speeding, reckless driving and driving without an endorsed motorcycle license. Charges will be filed in Wabasha County.

We had a regular customer. Every time he got a tune up, he asked for his old spark plugs. One day I asked him, "What do you do with all your old plugs?" He said, "Before I go for a ride, I put some in my pocket. Whenever some jerk cuts me off, I throw a spark plug at their car. They make nice dents!"

POWER BAND

A few years ago I was at a shop that was heavily into off-roading. Along with the hard core enthusiasts that made up our core customer base, we also had the usual amount of squid traffic.

One of the more common spodely remarks said in an effort to impress us was to let us know that the squidmobile had a powerband installed. A flash of true brilliance struck me one day. The whole point was to make a visual display that would hopefully get some attention and cause a little brain engagment on the squids part before they put thier mouths in motion.

I took a small piece of peg board and some small hooks. I got a bag of large multi colored rubberbands and hung the proper colored ones from the hooks, along with a discription under each one. I don't remember exactly how I worded each one, but as an example, under the orange one was written "Good broad power, works well in the woods." The red one was something like "SX style power, good mid range hit." There were simular things written under the yellow, green and blue rubber bands, plus to carry the joke out that much further I hung a pink colored one on the board and labeled it for "powder puff riders"

A guy came in one day running his mouth big time, he was a 'racer' and knew what he was doing... Kept telling us that "He raced" so he knew this, that and the other. His bike had all the latest hop up parts...well, for a then 10 year old mx bike anyway. Then the magic words came out... He had a 'high performance powerband" in it. I showed him the board, he studied it for a while and said he'd take one!

I fixed him right up. He picked the blue one, I charged him $9.95 for it and told him if he had any problems installing it to give me a call.
